As I do more and more Little Picasso Series commissions, I realize that part of the delight in doing this is the wonderful time we have in the Studio Visit and how free and creative each of these children naturally are.
LITTLE PICASSO COLLABORATION WITH SAVANNAH (7 yrs old)
Picasso pointed out that all children are artists.
But sometimes I wonder…will they be creative adults? Will they lose their wonderful ability to just jump in there and not be afraid? There are just so many forces working against it.
So I've done a bit of research and want to share some of the information I've discovered with you. I plan to share it in bite-size pieces through this blog/ and then throw in a fun art exercise each issue to stimulate your young child.
1) Researchers have defined creativity as a form of intelligence that can produce something new, or view things in a way that's original.
2) The best way to foster this type pf thinking is to give a child some private space. Space to make things up. Space to envision. Space that is not filled with too many electronic buttons and screens!
3) Children's imagination expands and develops the more they use it.
THIS MONTH'S CREATIVITY SUGGESTION:
